11th January 2008 - Luton Airport

This is to date the shortest of all this blog's entries. Even the best seller 'Famous Belgians' is longer than this, as too are 'The London Guide to English Plumbers' and 'Fine Dining in Newcastle'. The reason for this? French weather.

What should have been a long weekend with Bryan & Sandra at their home on the Cote D'Azure turned out to be a quick ten minutes on an Easyjet 737 before being off loaded because Nice Airport was shut. Thirty knot cross winds, driving rain and bizzarely, fog put paid to our expedition. Fortunately though the current security restrictions on hand luggage don't extend to West Cornwall Pasties. So we still managed one of those and a drink each in the departure lounge.

Credit though to Easyjet who were splendid in offering a full refund, a flight out the next morning or the opportunity to move the booking to a later date. Can't ask for fairer than that.

Special thanks to Bryan & Sandra. We might not have made Nice but we had a good laugh at the airport and then again on the following evening. Looking forward to the next attempt.
